Cordless Phone World Consumer Terms & Conditions of Sale


Nothing in these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer, if the goods are not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described.

In the unlikely event of a faulty item, all returns must include all original items undamaged , all original packaging including manuals, warranty forms and a copy of the invoice. Please always contact us first either by email or in writing before returning an item.

Items returned because they are damaged, defective or incorrect

If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or, in accordance with our returns policy, because it is damaged or defective, we will refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and pay your costs of returning it to us. Specific rules apply to the return of large items where we will arrange a courier to collect the item.

Items returned within the seven-day cooling off period

By law, customers located in the European Union also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the date the item is delivered. Where you are withdrawing from your purchase within the seven working day cooling-off period, and there has been no error on our part, we will refund the cost of the item and the cost of sending the item to you as follows Where you are returning an item that was part of a larger order, we'll refund the per-item charge for delivery that you incurred.
Where you are returning an entire order, we'll refund applicable per-item delivery charges and the per-delivery charge that you incurred. Where we collect an item from you, we reserve the right to recover the costs of collection from you & we will deduct the return postage from your overall refund. We will not refund the cost of your costs in returning the item to us and other services provided to you in connection with your purchase unless you return the item to us because of an error on our part or because it is defective.

Returns within the first 28 days

After receipt of an order, genuinely faulty goods will be replaced (an alternative may be offered if model is no longer stocked), repaired or refunded. Bearing in mind many problems are inadvertently created during setup and install, please allow the Manufacturer Helpline the opportunity to solve the problem over the phone. You can find the Helpline Number in the User Guide.

Return of faulty products after more than 28 days

All our products carry a 'return to base' warranty (Unless otherwise specified). Once your product is more than 28 days old (but within the warranty period) we will repair or replace it free of charge, if the exact model is not available then a product of similar features will be offered. We do not cover return postage costs after 28 days. It is solely at the discretion of Cordless Phone World as to whether a repair or replacement is provided.

As described below the length of the warranty is:

Brand New

These products are brand new and come fully boxed with a 12 month return to base warranty.


This describes items which have been used for demonstration purposes in shops or returned by mail order while under guarantee. Most of these items have never been used or removed from the original boxes. This also includes products which may have damaged packaging or other slight imperfections which do not affect the working condition of the item. We include a 6 month warranty on all ex display items.


These are items returned to the manufacturer but after inspection and testing by qualified engineers have been found with no fault. Refurbished items may come in a plain box instead of the original one and also may have minor blemishes, small scratches and show some signs of usage - This will not effect the working of the product whatsoever. These items are sold with a 90 day warranty.


We use Royal Mail for all customers choosing our free delivery service and APC Courier for customers paying the £4.95 upgrade to the next working day delivery option - The cut of time for next day delivery is 12 Noon.
The service we use with Royal Mail is a dedicated packet post service where all parcels have our own ppi number on them. We find the average delivery time on this service is 2-4 working days.In the event of an item not being delivered we cannot put a claim in until 15 days have past due to the Royal Mail terms. We will not send a replacement or offer a refund until this time has past.
For customers who upgrade to the next day service we use APC which is a next working day delivery service(Uk Mainland only - We cannot deliver to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Isles). Please also note some parts of Scotland delivery time may be two working days. We can track the parcel online and also give you a local depot contact number. If for any reason the parcel does get lost on this service we will send a replacement or offer a refund.

Data Protection

The Supplier will take all reasonable precautions to keep the details of your order and payment secure but unless the Supplier is negligent, the Supplier will not be liable for unauthorised access to information supplied by you.

WEEE Regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK

Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

Cordless Phone World Ltd is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.

For example, if a customer bought a new cordless phone from us we would accept their old cordless phone and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

Applicable Law

These terms of sale and the supply of the goods will be subject to English law and the English courts will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract.
